Providing Help & Advice

A consultant will work with school leaders to evaluate the school’s performance and provide help and advice on how to improve. This support will be firmly rooted in the OFSTED Framework and the Handbook for School Inspection.

Our most popular topics include:

Analysing RAISEonline

RAISEonlineThis is extremely popular in November and December when the new RAISEonline reports are published. It provides the opportunity for senior leaders to evaluate the past year’s performance and to set priorities for the coming year. These dates are always booked well in advance.

SEF in a day!

The school provides data for analysis in advance of the consultant’s visit. A senior leader then sits with the consultant for a day and the SEF is written. Senior leaders find that this reduces what is usually an incredibly time consuming task to a simple and manageable day’s work.

Improving effectiveness

Phillips & Leslie ConsultancyA joint analysis of a school’s overall effectiveness by a highly experienced lead inspector to provide an insight into the key areas that are preventing a school from improving. This allows the school to then draw up and implement plans for improving provision in these areas.

Teaching over time

A full two day visit from a consultant or consultants to carry out an in-depth analysis of the evidence to judge the quality of teaching over time. It includes lesson observations, interviews with staff, work scrutiny, pupils and governors, analysis of data and documentation and a feedback on the findings.

The work with this qualified lead inspector has been the best CPD for our leadership team. Andrew Teale, Headteacher, St Paul’s Primary School
