David Evans

David EvansDavid Evans is a school improvement consultant and lead inspector with expertise in the primary phase. He holds a BA(Hons) degree in history and economics, MA and PhD. He has a PGCE from the Institute of Education, London University. He has taught in the UK and the USA.


David has held senior positions in schools, teacher training institutions and universities. He currently works with the Open University. He has been an inspector of schools since 2000 and a lead inspector since 2010. He regularly works with governors, headteachers, senior and middle leaders in school improvement.


David can support primary schools in the following areas:

  • Lesson observation skills;
  • Preparations for Ofsted Inspections and mock inspections;
  • Data analysis and the identification of developmental priorities;
  • School self-evaluation, including SEF writing;
  • School improvement planning;
  • Pupils’ personal development, well-being and welfare;
